The right time for help

When is the exact time for intervention? How would parents know if their teenager is out of control?
There are two main things that you should notice – emotional changes and behavioral changes. If you observe something different in your teenager far from ordinary, you should seek professional help immediately. A therapist or a counselor can help you process the changes in your kid. Here are some of the signs:
Emotional changes:
* always sad
* easily and often cries
* trauma and phobia
* unusual behavior like being paranoid, obnoxious and always irritable
* persistent anger outburst
Behavioral changes:
* poor academic performance
* suicidal tendencies
* frequent isolation
* avoids friends
However, the military school do not accept teenagers who have serious behavioral or emotional issues.

Good educational environment

Education is very important. Yet, modern teenagers have forgotten the real value of it. Education has been overshadowed by fashion, friends and lifestyle. Parents are somehow partly responsible of their kids’ action. Some of them tolerate what their teenagers are into. This should not be the case. Parents have to take their kids to an environment that let them focus on learning. Also, they have to help their teenagers go through the process of puberty, while supporting them in school. For instance, make sure that kids have already done their homework before they could be on the phone.
However, for those teenagers who start to become impossible for their parents. A military school can be an option for their education. They will be in an environment that require them to focus academically. You will no longer become worried about possible bad influences that may distract your kids from their studies.

What is causing poor school performance?

There are several reasons why teenagers are performing poorly in class, or even considering dropping out of school. More and more parents become alarmed of this heaving fact. However, they have explored and come up with a number of solutions that will keep kids in school. Here are some of them:
* family involvement
* instructional technologies
* service learning
* individualized instruction
* tutoring
* alternative schooling
* community collaboration
Military school is an example of alternative schooling. The structured and stringent environment often provides the teenagers a motivation to learn (both inside and outside the classroom). Teen kids will also learn core values like discipline, responsibility, respect, teamwork, etc.

Dropping out of school youth

Most parents think that when their teen kid has disappointing grades, he or she is under adolescent stress. Parents usually blame it on the puberty changes, and mood swings, tantrum, isolation and rebellion are all just a phase. It maybe true at some point, but the modification and transition of behavioral pattern can also become abnormal.
Upsetting and abrupt changes often lead to poor academic performance. They can be caused by behavioral or emotional changes. They can also be due to other risk factors such as alcohol or drug use.
It is advisable that parents should intervene sooner, so the kid can snap back to school and graduation is slowly become very possible.

Understanding teen behavior

Puberty is a very critical period of a person’s life. It is usually accompanied with physical and emotional changes. Somehow it also modify the person’s behavioral pattern and even relationships with others. Teenagers usually want independence from parents. They want to create their own identity, values, competencies and skills to survive with the adults.
This independence teenagers want, sometimes, disagrees with the established rules at home. They often tend to negotiate and compromise. However, when things don’t go their way, they rebel which can progress to a bad behavior.
As parents, you should be able to distinguish between normal teenage behaviors and teen behavioral problem. If you fail to notice, chances are your kid will learn a bad behavior. Even so, you should be observant enough to see the early signs of his or her abnormal behavior. You can change such inappropriate patterns sooner.
